Search Result Cleanup & Removals
Investigate unwanted indexed URLs, outdated content, and legacy properties before they create more confusion.
Your Business Has Changed. What Is Search Still Showing?
Corporate websites accumulate history. Old campaigns remain on subdomains, product documents outlive the products, and a retired platform continues serving pages nobody remembered to review.
Some of that history is useful. Some of it sends prospects to the wrong offer, wrong brand, or wrong contact. A technical misconfiguration can multiply the problem across thousands of URLs.
FixClicks investigates what is appearing in search and helps determine the appropriate response. We consider customer needs, retained resources, inbound links, and the business purpose of each property before recommending changes.
Our experience includes urgent remediation involving tens of thousands of unwanted URLs. That work requires careful scoping, clear ownership, and attention to the underlying configuration so the same problem does not keep returning.
Legacy Properties and Subdomain Cleanup
- Inventorying company-controlled domains, subdomains, and legacy campaign properties
- Reviewing indexed marketing-platform pages outside the main corporate website
- Investigating staging, development, preview, and testing URLs appearing in search
- Identifying former agency or vendor properties that still represent the company
- Reviewing acquired-company sites and overlapping legacy brands
- Distinguishing useful regional properties from abandoned or duplicate versions
- Coordinating Search Console access and property coverage for affected hosts
- Planning the retirement or consolidation of properties with the teams that own them
Outdated Pages, Documents, and Business Information
- Finding expired promotions, event registration pages, and campaign offers
- Reviewing end-of-sale and end-of-life product content against support obligations
- Identifying old pricing, specifications, brochures, and product comparison documents
- Finding obsolete PDFs, images, and downloads on controlled hosts and asset domains
- Correcting outdated addresses, phone numbers, and company descriptions on owned pages
- Reviewing indexed confirmation pages and other destinations intended for limited journeys
- Identifying translated pages that describe retired offerings or former market coverage
- Mapping obsolete content to an appropriate replacement, retained archive, or removal action
Technical Investigation and Corrective Work
- Investigating parameter-driven URLs and unintended page variations
- Reviewing duplicate hostnames, alternate paths, and legacy CMS URL patterns
- Assessing canonical conflicts and relationships between duplicate pages
- Reviewing indexing directives and identifying conflicts that prevent intended changes
- Coordinating appropriate page updates, noindex implementation, or content removal
- Planning redirects where a relevant replacement exists
- Preparing scoped removal requests for verified properties when rapid hiding is appropriate
- Coordinating access restrictions for material that should not remain publicly available
Validation, Continuity, and Internal Coordination
- Preparing URL inventories with recommended actions and accountable owners
- Prioritizing issues around launches, acquisitions, rebranding, and customer impact
- Checking internal links, sitemaps, and campaign destinations after corrections
- Identifying valuable inbound links that need a maintained destination
- Checking document and page alternatives that could leave obsolete information accessible
- Monitoring search results and Search Console for remaining or returning URLs
- Recording completed actions and dependencies that need developer or platform support
- Establishing retirement checklists so future campaigns do not recreate the backlog

Correct the Cause, Not Just the Search Result
A temporary removal request can hide a Google result while the underlying work is completed. It does not by itself remove the content from the web or establish a lasting exclusion. We coordinate the appropriate content, access, or indexing changes and check the result.
Redirecting an old page is a different decision from removing it. Product support, contractual commitments, useful historical material, and existing customer needs may justify retaining information. We help your teams make those decisions explicitly.
Third-party coverage also needs a separate assessment. We can investigate inaccurate information and coordinate correction requests, while recognizing that another publisher controls its own content.
A Practical Plan for Complicated Cleanup
You receive a prioritized view of what needs attention, why it matters, and how the work should be handled. FixClicks can perform corrections within our access and coordinate requirements across marketing, development, regional, and platform teams.
